Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Recommend Ltd, trading as RCMD ("we", "us"), uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage to run this site. This page explains what they are and how to control them, in line with the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). See also our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work the same way and are covered by this policy too.

2. Cookies we use

Strictly necessary. The site can't work without these, so they don't need your consent:

NamePurposeHow long
sb-[project]-auth-tokenKeeps you signed in. Set only when you sign in, removed when you sign out.Session, refreshed while you use the site
localeRemembers the language you picked.1 year

We also keep some settings in your browser's local storage while you use the app, such as which of your profiles is active. They stay on your device and are not used to track you.

Analytics and advertising. We don't use any today. The view counts shown to creators are counted on our own servers without cookies and without identifying you. If we ever add optional cookies, they will only be set if you choose "Accept all", and this page will list them.

3. Third-party services

When a signed-in member adds a place to a recommendation, address search is provided by Google Maps, which may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. Signing in with Apple, Google or Meta takes you to that provider, whose own cookie rules apply there.

4. Your choices

You can change the choice you made on our cookie banner at any time:

Your current choice: not chosen yet

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary ones, signing in won't work.
